Eight Zodiac Guardians – Akasagarbha Bodhisattva

Estimated Reading Time: 4 mins

In ancient China, astrologers closely observed and discovered the powerful influence that Jupiter, the largest planet of our solar system, had on human destiny. Noting that Jupiter takes 12 years to complete its orbit around the Sun, these ancient astrologers meticulously divided this orbit into twelve equal segments. Each segment was associated with a specific period, reflecting the Earth’s orbit around the Sun. Over centuries, this celestial framework became a cornerstone of Chinese astrology.

Conjunction of Planets Jupiter and Saturn

Saturn, the second-largest planet in our solar system, plays a significant role in ancient astrological observations. Astrologers noted that Saturn and Jupiter align once every 20 years, marking the beginning of a new cycle. Each of these conjunctions heralds the dominance of a specific Element and Trigram, influencing the prevailing social and economic trends of the time.

The current cycle, governed by the Fire element and the Li Trigram, spans from 4 February 2024 to 3 February 2044. These 20 years are marked by the dynamic energies of Fire, shaping the trends and developments of this era.

Period 5 is unique in that it has no associated Trigram.

Eight Trigram and Twelve Zodiacs

The Bagua comprises eight distinct trigrams, each created by three vertically stacked lines known as Yao (爻). Ancient astrologers, most notably King Wen of Zhou, crafted the Later Heaven Bagua to articulate the elements associated with each direction, season, and zodiac sign.

Akasagarbha Bodhisattva – The Zodiac Guardian

Akasagarbha Bodhisattva (虛空藏菩薩) is the guardian of those born under the zodiac signs of Ox (1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021) and the Tiger (1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022). Akasagarbha Bodhisattva (虛空藏菩薩) is an embodiment of Gen Trigram (Earth element).

虛 (xū) – The Purity of Emptiness: Cultivating Clarity and Openness

The essence of 虛 (xū) lies in the purity of emptiness—a state of mental and emotional clarity that fosters openness and innovation. In the realm of career and business, this principle encourages you to clear away the clutter of preconceptions and embrace a fresh perspective. Akasagarbha guides individuals towards inner purity and enables them to approach challenges with renewed clarity and creativity. By creating a space for new ideas and strategies, you pave the way for breakthrough solutions and transformative growth.

空 (kōng) – The Infinite Sky: Embracing Boundless Potential

Following the purity of 虛, the concept of 空 (kōng) represents the boundless expanse of the sky—symbolising limitless opportunities and potential. This principle encourages you to transcend conventional boundaries and explore new horizons in your professional journey. The vastness of 空 inspires you to envision expansive possibilities and innovative solutions. With Akasagarbha’s guidance, you can leverage this boundlessness to achieve breakthrough success and embrace opportunities that lead to remarkable growth.

藏 (cáng) – The Treasure of Hidden Opportunities: Discovering Hidden Gems

The principle of 藏 (cáng) is intricately linked to the concept of 宝藏 (bǎozàng), or hidden treasures. It symbolises the discovery and preservation of valuable assets that may be overlooked or under-the-radar. In the context of career and business, this principle encourages you to seek out hidden opportunities and untapped potential that lie beyond the surface. By embracing this mindset, you position yourself to uncover and capitalise on unique opportunities that others might miss, enriching your professional and business pursuits with newfound value and success.

Gen Trigram – The Earth Element: Foundation and Stability

Akasagarbha is also associated with the Gen trigram of the Eight Trigrams, which corresponds to the Earth element. The Earth element represents stability, reliability, and grounding—a foundation upon which great achievements are built. This association underscores the importance of creating a solid base in your career and business endeavours. By integrating the stability of the Gen trigram, you ensure that your strategies are grounded in enduring principles, fostering long-term success and resilience.

Align with the wisdom of 虛空藏菩薩 and the Gen trigram to unlock unparalleled career and business success. Embrace the purity of vision, explore limitless opportunities, discover hidden treasures, and build on a foundation of stability. Akasagarbha Bodhisattva is adorned with the Five Buddha Crown, a powerful symbol of his boundless wisdom and his authority to grant and fulfil the wishes of his devoted followers. This auspicious emblem bestows upon those destined to wear it the ability to make wise and thoughtful decisions, empowering them with the clarity and insight needed to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Flaming Sword (烈焰佛光剑)

The flaming sword wielded by Akasagarbha Bodhisattva is a potent symbol, representing the ability of wisdom to cut through ignorance. This illustrates the transformative power of knowledge, which clears away the obstacles and challenges that hinder progress. This removal of obstacles and challenges fosters proactive action and brings opportunities, encouraging individuals to take initiative and make informed decisions.

Lotus with Glistening Jewels (珍佛莲花)

Akasagarbha Bodhisattva holds a lotus topped with a wish-fulfilling jewel, a powerful symbol embodying the clarity of body, speech, and mind. This jewel, revered as one of the most formidable emblems of prosperity, represents the triumph over obstacles and challenges, guiding humanity towards abundance and success in their endeavours. The lotus mirrors the resilience and strength needed to overcome life’s challenges and achieve success, serving as a metaphor for the ability to find clarity and serenity amidst turmoil.

Phoenix (凤凰)

The presence of the phoenix symbolises the harmony of yin and yang, reflecting balance and completeness. In ancient China, these imperial symbols were deeply woven into the fabric of power and prosperity. The mythical phoenix, nearly synonymous with luck and good fortune, heralds abundant opportunities and is revered in Imperial Feng Shui for its ability to attract positive energy.

As a powerful emblem of inner strength and the potential for success, the phoenix embodies virtue, grace, self-reflection, and transformation in Chinese folklore.
