Ancient Chinese astrologers observed that the largest planet, Jupiter, significantly influences the astrology chart of humans living on Earth. Jupiter takes 12 years to complete its orbit around the Sun. Over centuries of observation, astrologers divided Jupiter’s orbital track into twelve equal segments, assigning each segment to a specific period. Each segment corresponds to the number of days it takes for Earth to orbit the Sun.
Saturn is the second largest planet in our solar system. Ancient astrologers observed that the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter occurs once every 20 years. With each conjunction, a new Element and Trigram dominates social and economic trends.
The current reigning period, governed by the Fire element (Li Trigram), spans from 4th February 2024 to 3rd February 2044, lasting 20 years. Note that Period 5 has no trigram.
The Bagua consists of eight unique trigrams, each formed by three vertically stacked lines called Yao (爻). Ancient astrologers, particularly King Wen of Zhou, developed the Later Heaven Bagua to explain the elemental characteristics of each direction, season, and zodiac sign.
