Imperial Harvest Royal Signet Collection

The Imperial Harvest Royal Signet Collection celebrates the cultural and artistic fusion that characterised the late Ming to early Qing dynasty, a period marked by vibrant cultural exchanges between Chinese and Western societies. Masterfully conceptualised by Master David, the collection elegantly fuses the profound heritage of Imperial Feng Shui with modern design aesthetics, highlighting a notable milestone in our creative legacy.

The Signet Ring Tradition

The signet ring has ancient roots in Western culture, used to mark documents with unique family crests, while in Imperial China, Emperors used seals made from jadeite for similar purposes. Both signet rings and seals symbolised status and authority. During the Qing Golden Age, the Chinese royal family adopted signet rings, with Imperial craftsmen blending Western techniques and Chinese aesthetics, transforming them into sophisticated symbols of cultural integration and artistic evolution.

Royal Blues with Cloisonné Enamelling

Imperial Harvest craftsmen have perfected the art of enamelling, creating royal blue enamel reminiscent of the Temple of Heaven’s roof tiles. Carefully selected gemstones are set within deep blue enamel frames, bridging the earthly and divine. The process involves grinding enamel pigments, mixing with agarwood oil, painting onto 18k solid gold, and firing at high temperatures. This precise technique, reflected in the Royal Signet Collection, embodies the fusion of historical reverence and modern artistry, capturing Imperial China’s rich heritage and spiritual depth.

Inspired by the Temple of Heaven

For the Royal Signet Collection, Master David draws inspiration from the Circular Mound Altar (圜丘坛) in the Temple of Heaven, used by emperors in Imperial China for rituals to honour Heaven. The altar’s three-tiered design and celestial heart stone (天心石), aligned with the sun during the Winter Solstice, are reflected in the collection’s pendants. These pieces capture the altar’s celestial alignment and ceremonial grandeur, embodying the timeless elegance and spiritual significance of this ancient tradition.

Superlative Craftsmanship

Precious gemstones are meticulously selected for their depth of colour, beauty, and symbolism. They are set within blue enamel frames, reminiscent of the Temple of Heaven’s roof tiles. The collection’s lustrous 18K gold rings not only enhance the visual appeal of each piece but also imbue them with deeper symbolic meaning, bridging the earthly and the divine.
